I'm flying on a ticket paid for on my TD card and redeemed for an Aeroplan reward YYZ-MEL, return SYD-YYZ. The first leg of the YYZ-MEL ticket is YYZ to LAX on Air Canada and then onward to MEL on United.
I wonder if I will get MLL access. Technically, I am flying Air Canada out of YYZ to LAX, but I'm not sure if I am considered an AC passenger or a UA passenger. Each flight in the segment have their own designation (no codeshares).
Last calendar year I redeemed out of YYZ on AC-only Aeroplan flights with no issues. I was quite happy by the time I boarded the plane. Unfortunately This time it's a morning flight, so no alcohol, but I'm cancelling the card soon, so might as well use it for something.
PS: can we use any lounge in YYZ that we want with these passes? Even tho my flight is transborder, it's gate is right next to the international lounge, so obvs I'd rather go there so I can be close to my flight. Am I allowed or are we restricted to using the lounge that's attached to the kind of flight we're taking?
