So I'm coming in from AMS via KLM into HKG in a couple of weeks, then on a different ticket I'm traveling onwards a couple of hours later with China Eastern RT to XIY.

Now KLM has the same carry on restrictions as a US carrier... but China Easterns seems INSANELY low. From the forums experience, do they enforce the single carryon at 5KG or am I going to be able to get on with my dufflebag carry-on and laptop backpack? Also does being Skyteam Elite Plus make a difference there?

I'd rather not check my luggage if avoidable.
