Until recently, things weren't much better at SFO. DL lounge in A had closed (AM gates). DL still had a landside lounge @ 1 (not too bad of a walk back to A security), but that moved airside. At night, CI was only airside lounge, not opening until after 10pm (11pm AM flight). AF took over the old DL lounge, but not open late enough for the AM flight ... until about a month or two ago (with later hours)- now AM seems to have a lounge available for all of their SFO flights.

Methinks AM doesn't want to get one's expectations too high for the onboard experience
