Hey I was just responding to the post above wondering how someone would "get [a paraplegic] off the plane in an emergency." I also vaguely recall some previous posts on FT where someone has expressed concern that a disabled person on the aisle seat in their row has prevented them from being able to access the lavatory during a flight.
As much as FAs are trained to help in emergency situations, hopefully most passengers would try to help anyone seated near them, including those with special needs, and not take an attitude of "it's not my job as this is what FAs are supposed to do."
