I don't have a lot of experience with 3rd party WEB sites for hotels, etc. I have used Expedia a couple of times, Agoda once, and booking.com recently.

At the NY Times Travel & Leisure Show last month, Mr. Frommer suggested one of the negative developments for travelers in 2015 was the consolidation in the ownership of 3rd party WEB sites. In his view, this means less competition and higher prices?

After a recent trip to Asia, I am seeing more, not less competition. Yatra is an example of this.

What are the best WEB sites to look for hotel deals? Are they regional in scope?

Also, I have a big concern with Trip Advisor being the "go to" site for hotel deals. I use TA for 3rd party reviews, and it seems to me they are in a big conflict of interest when they offer bookings. Anyone else share my concern?
