I utilized what United offers. When Biz Saver is NOT available, bit Economy Saver is - it is allowed to book Biz Saver and WAIT till and if space opens up for I class. That is what I did. NOONE downgraded us as You think and claim.
Right now there are 4 seats available in Busines class. We are on the waitlist under 3 and 4. Two people ahead of us who paid miles and cash to upgrade.

I called again asking about the rules on priority on waitlist. At first, agent stated that we get priority in this case and then decided to change her mind and state that other 2 passengers get priority over us.
