Checked in last night-- very impressed so far despite how crowded the hotel is.

Parking is now free, both valet and self, for plat members. This was a major concern of mine as it would add up quickly on a long stay. Was very nice to see it waived.

The plat welcome gift/buffet is excellent. The continental buffet has a great selection of fruits, granolas, waffles, bacon, and other misc., with delicious made to order omelettes ordered from server. I wasn't sure if the omelettes would be included as the welcome gift specifically says continental breakfast which is the buffet section which is normally $22, with the made to order omelettes including bringing the charge up to $29, but they didn't bat an eye when I ordered eggs. Between the two of us, the plat gift is $58/day for a week--- an excellent gift! With the parking fee waived, it's nearly $80/day in plat freebies.

Haven't checked out the lounge yet, and may not even bother during my stay, tbh.

Been wearing a platinum bracelet that I was given at checkin, but seems pointless.

Also was not upgraded from the purchased ocean view, but hotel is at capacity. Several conferences going on; including the one my fiancee is in, so was not surprised.

Plats also receive 20% off dinner at the two restaurants-- I believe it's 10% for other SPG members.

The sign in sheet claims an additional 250 points/day for direct bookings. I'm keeping the sheet and will follow up on that because why the hell not. 1500 points is 1500 points.



edit-- the above poster said free booze at lounge, but the benefits sheet given to me claims a $30 upcharge for bar in lounge
