I suspect national/ethinic character may indluence that, as I have a slight suspicion that English is not his first language. "aircrafts" is always a clue, but there are other linguistic nuances too.

We should, therefore, be a bit sympathetic. Not being English, or in some perspectives not born in Yorkshire/Cornwall/Surrey is sufficient burden to bear.
