So your international flight (different PNR) may arrive too late to make a connecting Delta domestic flight? And Delta has another flight leaving later the same day that will get you to your destination? Just so I understand.

If so, this is a classic "flat tire rule", and you have a decent shot of coming out better or no worse than if you rebooked the connecting Delta flight.

Some factors to consider:

1. Is your late in-bound flight on Delta or a Delta ticket on a codeshare partner? If so, Delta will almost surely treat the whole trip as one continuous PNR booking.

2. Not Delta ticket, but a Skyteam partner? Might help.

3. Your status? Being a Plat can't hurt!

4. Try to not to check any luggage on your inbound flight to save time.

5. Global Entry is a big help.

6. I assume you are arriving at Bradley Terminal and departing from T-5. If so, exit out to the street from Bradley, turn right, walk past T-4 (American Airlines), and then T-5 (Delta). Look for the escalator up to the departures level at T-5. Don't wait for "A" Terminal Transfer bus unless you see it there waiting at the right side of Bradley.

7. "L" is a pricey coach fare, it might help.
