Flight is out of lax, 2nd last flight of the night and sdc to the later flight was already declined by phone agent.
I haven't been in your shoes, but I'd suggest getting to the airport as soon as you can THE SAME DAY, and ask an agent to put you on that last flight. There an informal rule (which isn't really a rule) called the "flat tire rule".
If this works at all will depend on factors such as whether that last flight has seats remaining, your status (Plat is good), how polite you are, and the agent's mood.

However, on some tickets if you miss the flight without cancelling it ahead of time, you will lose the residential value of the ticket, which is the ticket price minus the rebooking fee.

It might be helpful if you post all of the specifics, including the ticket's fare basis.
