No one here can (accurately) predict whether you first flight will arrive on time on your day of travel -- or, for that matter, whether your second flight will depart on time, or be delayed.

If you book Option 1 and are on a single ticket, UA will put you on the next available flight to your final destination. That might or might not be the flight in Option 2.
