Last night I came across shark fin soup on the special Feb 7-22 Chinese New Year Menu of Northside Cafe in Starwood's SLS Las Vegas.
Spoke to a manager who assured me shark fin is legal in Nevada (it is banned in California, Oregon, Washington and Hawaii, among other states). He seemed unaware that Starwood Hotels has a global ban on shark fin soup.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. SLS Las Vegas, A Tribute Portfolio Resort recently joined the Starwood portfolio and we’re in contact with them to remove shark fin from the menu. We sincerely apologize that this happened as we take the global ban of shark fin quite seriously.
