I was reading something about ATC in this month's issue of 'wired'. One little thing mentioned was the takeoff speed of the A340-600. Beng the longest commercial passenger a/c due to a significant stretch (12m+) over the original A340-300 design, it requires a takeoff speed of either 180 knots or mph (can't remember which) to avoid a tail strike.
