YOu may want to try hotelbook.com, when we were over there in October we were going to go with them, then at the last minute prices direct from the hotel dropped for some type of special rate, so we did that.
What to do what you are in town? Don't ever pass a pastry shop without buying something, preferably something dipped in chocolate. Hit all the tourist type art galleries, and I enjoyed the Anne Frank house much more then I thought I would.
Take a canal ride to break up the day, and make sure you get some dutch pancakes at a dutch pancake house.
