I'd say if you can get a flight in ORD the day before, rest up, then do JL F, then go for it. It'll be so much of a nicer experience than AA F, and everyone should try it once in their lives. Just bring a t-shirt and shorts to sleep in if you any tendency to overheat because JL cabins are hot!

When I do redeyes that stress my body, I'm more prone to getting sick. And when I'm sick, it sucks to be in the air no matter how nice the flight is. Even if I don't get sick, just being stiff from long positioning flights, not sleeping, etc. makes the experience not worth it.

I admit I still pull red-eyes in order to chase trophy redemptions. Because I want to fly the longest route I can, and I want to cheap out on hotels. But I suffer for it and I'd probably be happier if I stopped. Don't they always say... changing yourself isn't easy
