When are you coming back, and what options do you have for the return? I have - subjectively of course, I'm only one person - often found the JL F space ex-Japan to be more available than ex-US. Would you have the opportunity to try JL on the return? The ORD flight gets in early and would, I'd think, give you plenty of options to get back to SFO. This is of course assuming you are coming back 1) from Asia and 2) shortly enough to get the return booked before the AA deval.
