I think if more people tried them, and more people who make the travel decisions used them, some chains would have to get their act together on the prices they charge.
At the corporate level that has already happened for the upmarket chains. Some of the deals cap Hiltons and Sheratons at sub £100 a night, Holiday Inns at below £80 - even for last minute bookings with the hotel nearly full. The Sofitel is still pushing for around £150 from its corporate customers but a more typical price is around £100 to £110. Usually there isn't a parking deal in these corporate rates, however. I do stay at Premier Inns occasionally, but in recent years the Premier Inn has never undercut Hilton / Novotel / Holiday Inn (in particular) and Marriott on our corporate rates, so I've never stayed in any of the Premier Inns near Heathrow or Gatwick.
