Westin does the same: relatively fancy room and good coffee supplied, but only disposable cups for coffeemakers, even in some suites with fancy coffeemakers. IIRC I recently observed the same in a SPG LC upgrade to a junior suite. The same phenomenon arose in a LGM senior suite, again with a fairly fancy coffee setup.

Sometimes you can borrow a real coffee mug from the lounge to use in your room.
