Kendryk was kind enough to e-mail me the doc direct upthread.
The Insurance "specialists" initially told me "No coverage at all for strike". After reading the certificate, I called back and, again, was told "No coverage at all". I told them to actually read what is covered.
After actually reading the document, they confirmed they will cover for accommodations + meals up to $1,000 for the first 48 hours.
There is NO coverage for a ticket on a non-striking airline to get home.
Glad I could help and thanks for reporting back!
PTS has helped me rebook through the airline to get me on a flight back home within 48 hours. Total speculation: they might be able to help you negotiate a rebook on a codeshare flight? Probably worth a shot to ask. Hope it works out for you.
For reference, Global Excel has processed claims and sent out the cheque within 2-3 weeks in my experience.
