In brief, the places that are inhabited by the Polentoni. Then comes Central Italy and then, south of Lazio (although some people count Lazio there as well), is the Mezzogiorno (South). Sardinia belongs to the Centre and Sicily, obviously, to the South which is inhabited by the Terroni. There are, of course, people between the North and the South, but they have no... name.
