yeah its true, full-time employees of just about every transportation related company are offered "transportation" benefits .. everyone from northwest to fedex .. but the benefits really suck ..

only immediate family qualify and the kids need to be 21 or younger .. almost all of the time they fly stand-by either free or at a very reduced rate .. one of the "inhumane" rule they hold firm is everyone flying on the 'benefit' must wear business attire from head to toe, cannot talk about the reduced rate, and can only carry on luggage .. oh and you may not get food either

wouldn't consider it "lucky" to know someone in the travel industry .. i'd rather buy my tickets and be treated with respect
