Note that if you book the QF flight number (which you will probably have to if the trip doesn't involve a US-Australia segment), you earn 50% EQMs on all discount economy fares, not 25% (and not 50% of 25%). You earn 25% of miles flown redeemable miles and 50% of miles flown EQMs.
