AC itineraries - you're only allowed two domestic flights in each direction without breaking the fare regardless of whether it involves a stopover. It makes more sense for you to book YMM-CDG connecting via YYZ and YUL with YUL being your stopover, and book one separate YUL-YQM return ticket. While for your wife (I'm assuming she departs right from YQM) would fly YQM-YUL-CDG-YUL-YQM. The risk of course is in IRROPS, you might end up on a different flight than your wife.
That still isn't working, YMM-CDG-YUL-YMM is coming up at $1,565 (+$421 YUL-YQM) which is way more than the $1,477 of YMM-YQM & YQM-CDG.
