Just to add a couple data points, I was able to access dl.com and also use the app without a pass yesterday, although I subsequently did use one.

Weirdly, I could not get the Chrome browser on my Macbook to authenticate to Gogo. It kept redirecting me to the "out of coverage area page" (the one that has one side in English and one side in Japanese with a link to the coverage map pop-up) even after clearing browser cache, DNS cache, disconnect/reconnect to wifi, and rebooting. I *was* able to open Safari and use that to sign in to Gogo etc. and then I was able to use Chrome normally.
