Great info, thanks! I do feel exactly as you say in 1, but I'll hold onto it.

Any penalty for downgrading CSP TO CS? Credit history or otherwise?

How'd you get the ink + without a business? I really don't think I could spend enough now on both the CSP and Ink+ to get both bonuses, but perhaps I could do the ink+ next year when I downgrade the CSP to CS (or just close it).

Thanks for the info!

here is the basic rundown:

1) do not close one of your existing freedom card. 2 Freedom is actually really good. You can basically get 1500x2 = 3000 worth of category bonus each quarter. You may not know how good this is atm and you may even be like "but I don't spend 3k on any of those category" but just take my word for it and don't close either of them.

2) Yes, CSP is a good travel card, particularly if you KNOW you can meet the signup bonus (spend 4k in 3 months). When you do that, you'll get 50k points.

3) 50k point as you may know is worth $500 in cash. However, what you may not know is that it can be worth ~ 1000 in travel.

4) Before applying for CSP, please make sure that you have not had 5 cards in last 24 months. Else, you'll be denied so there is no point in applying.

5) After CSP, I would also get Ink +. It gives you 60k after 5k spend in 3 months. You want to downgrade Ink+ (or CSP) the following year.

6) Yes, Ink+ is a business card but individuals can get it. I don't have any business and I have the card. Why do I have the card? Because with Freedom + CSP + Ink I shower in points.

7) What if I don't have enough expense to meet the minimum spend requirement? Lookup Manufactured Spending subforum here.

8) CSP itself is a pretty good card. As you may know it gives you 2x points in travel (does not include gas) and dining....which is where a ton of money is spend by travelers. Also you get primary rental insurance.

9) if you're into travel, don't spend UR points for cash. save as much UR points as possible, transfer them to partners, and redeem for travel. They're one of the most valuable points in this game.

10) never carry balance. always pay in full.

hopefully that gives a good rundown of things and feel free to ask if you've any question.
