I called the company and they listed 2 purchases which they had declined and asked if I had made them. 1 purchase was the AA flight 3 weeks ago ( they didn't send me an email ???? ) and the purchase I had just tried to make. It would appear that AA doesn't know that they did not get their money.
As soon as you confirmed with the CC company that your had made the purchases, the CC company would have released the funds to AA for the declined purchase. No further follow-up required by them to get paid.
