The last two times I tried smiling and saying hello ended with me getting their entire divorce histories.

Years ago I had Dinah Manoff from Empty Nest sit next to me. There was turbulence and she seemed terrified, so I joked with her about silly stuff and she seemed to calm down. She was extremely pleasant.
