Another attempt at a thought-starter question: What are your 5 most essential reward travel destinations?

In other words, when picking a program (or alliance) for miles accumulation, where must they be able to get you to?

I think this is a very important question because right now it's still a big barrier for the LCCs (low-cost carriers). They can offer low fares to Dallas but can't give you miles to potentially get you to Australia.

If there's something of a consensus about the "most-wanted" award spots, then IMO the first LCC to figure out a way to offer a program to get people there at some kind of competitive mileage cost will have taken a giant leap toward dethroning the majors.

Here's my personal list:

1. Thailand
2. Hawaii
3. Amsterdam/Brussels
4. Las Vegas
5. Australia

and here's my guess at a general one:

1. Hawaii
2. Orlando
3. London or Paris (grouped due to chunnel)
4. Las Vegas
5. Cancun
