AC West Chester / Liberty Center, OH
(note: I tried posting this as a review but could not get the result to post; the "Submit" button did not work).
Opened on/around 02 Feb 2016. Checked in 07 Feb. I had planned to stay at the Four Points nearby where I stayed last week but noticed this place while checking out Liberty Center last week (one of those "lifestyle" developments for people who want to live in a shopping mall I guess) and decided to stay here instead even though I have no MR status (my SPG Platinum status won't mean anything at Marriott properties for a while longer). It's gorgeous inside, very cool, calm, modern.
The room is... compact, let's say. It's on the top floor with a balcony which this time of year is pretty useless and there's a view of a muddy field. My main complaint is the lack of any clothing storage; there's two small drawers and a hanger rod. I'm here all week and there's just not enough places to put stuff. Other than that it's fine. The light switches are a little baffling as to what they are supposed to turn on. Nice big LG TV bolted to the wall facing the bed with no adjustment so I had to move the little swivel chair to the other side of the bed nearest the door because its original location was too angled away from the screen. HDMI ports on the left side were a little hard to connect to my iPad but it works.
The bathroom is really a toilet and shower stall with a rainfall shower head directly above and a hand-held. That was nice. What's a little odd is the sink is in the main room with a mirror serving as a partition between it and the bed/sitting/desk area (yes there is a desk!) and again there isn't much space for all my stuff so it's all sitting on the counter. Very shallow sink means a lot of splashed water everywhere. Stylish, though.
Now my biggest pet peeve is rude neighbors who let their door SLAM shut. You'd think there would be a soft-closing mechanism by now for hotel doors, but I just heard another SLAM. Look, people, take an extra second to close your door quietly both coming and going.
There is a bar/lounge on the second floor that serves small plates and drinks. I ate there last night because I got in late and everything nearby was closed. Tasty and not that expensive.
There are a number of restaurants nearby in this development. There's also a lot of shops selling whatever, mostly expensive clothing and cosmetics. Plenty of un-leased space too, so it should be pretty busy in six months or so. It is basically at the junction of SR129 and I-75 and access to both highways is quick. Parking is close by and free in front of the hotel. I guess the developers of Liberty Center decided to mimic a real downtown with parking meters along the small streets but there is plenty for free if you don't mind walking a bit.
Check-in seemed a little awkward as if the two young guys weren't sure what to do, but not a big deal because they'd only been on the job a few days. Housekeeping is fine for now.

Reason: Ohio State Route 129, not US129.
