How Readily Can a Hotel Combine Reservations for Consecutive Nights - Different Rates

I am looking at booking the Manchester Grand Hyatt in SAN, and as of now, I have 2-3 different reservations for about a 7-8 night stay; as some nights I have been able to find a better rate.

If I book one confirmation# it will give me the highest rate.

I'm curious upon check in, how readily can the hotel and their IT system (Opera?) combine the reservations? Otherwise, I would potentially have to check out of and in to these consecutive reservations?

Also when they combine the reservations in Opera, will it pull the rate from each reservation, or could I have an issue where say it would charge me the rate in the first reservation for the entire stay?

Are there any other problems I could have, or ways to mitigate problems upon check-in?

Can I give the agent any tips on how to do this in Opera?

I am going to keep checking to see if I can book the 7-8 night stay under one confirmation# which would be cleaner.

I'm just worried about how Hyatt IT would handle the combining of multiple reservations with say up to 2-3 different rates.

I did find out if you book a reservation over the phone, assuming all the rates are avaialble at a single point in time when you book the reservation, a phone agent can
itinerize
the reservation, which sounds like its a process where there are multiple line items for different rates.

Also incidentally I've enjoyed my stays at this hotel over the past 3-4 years!
