Trying to solicit inputs on people's experiences using Chase Rental Car Coverage - it is for international rental therefore regardless which card as long as it has rental car coverage, it would be primary.

I notice the benefits brochure no longer give detailed fine prints on the rental car CDW coverage other than brief description.

There is also no excluded countries listed.

When I called to fine out more information, I got a company called Card Benefit Services - it is a 3rd party that handles Chase cards rental car insurance I am told. The rep was professional and thorough. She sent me the Letter of Coverage which has a lot more information than the same type of letter from Citicard that I also requested.

My primary goal is to find out people's experiences in using this benefit on either Chase or Citi card, so we can make a decision on which bank's card to use for our trips all involved lengthy period of car rentals. We know AMEX is the best in this area but currently we dont have the AMEX Plat card and dont anticipate we would have one anytime soon, so we would need to rely on either Chase or Citi - both do tell me that in the countries when the insurance is mandatory, such as Australia/NZ, South Africa and Italy, Citi and Chase would cover the excess. Interestingly, AMEX excludes Australia and NZ from its coverage. I was told by the rep that "they" were told the 2 countries governments did not want to sign an agreement with AMEX, hence there was no coverage, fwiw.
