AAdvantage Amex
My AF just hit on my AAdvantage AMEX. I called in and I was immediately transferred to an account specialist from South Dakota.
Here's how it went:
me: Hello, I would like to close my account, please.
them: "Are you sure you want to close? You can't re-open it once I've closed it."
me: Yes, unless you have any offers to offset the AF.
them: Unfortunately, I don't have any offers.
me: How about if I downgrade the account to a no annual card?
them: Sorry, this account cannot be converted to another type of card.
me: How about if I transfer the line of credit to an existing card?
them: Sure, we can do up to $8,000, but this will require a hard credit pull as if you're requesting for a line of credit increase.
me: Never mind. I'll need to some time to think about this. I don't want any hard pulls on my account.
*click*
Ugh! Has anyone else encountered this?
