MCT/Transit Athens Airport (Moscow-Athens-Santorini)

Hi! I will be traveling in march with Aegean from Moscow to Athens, scheduled landing at 16.45.. I'm considering to buy a separate ticket for the same day from Athens to Santorini departing at 19hs.

I'm not sure if I could take my medium size luggage (that may fit in the 56cmΧ45cmΧ25cm condition) as a cabin baggage. Sometimes they just send it to the hold, as RyanAir does, sometimes depending also on flight occupation.

In any case (as a hold baggage or cabin baggage), considering that I'm coming from Russia (not Schengen Zone) and I'll need a passport check....

do I have enough time for picking my bag (just in case), going trough customs and passports checks, making the transit, checking in (or register my baggage if needed)?

ps: Aegean allowed to reserve both flights but I thought it was better to buy the tickets separately because it was cheaper. Would it be an issue?

Thanks!
