You can take the Yamanote to Nippori to visit Yanaka. It's an old part of Tokyo. The big draw is the Yanaka Ginza with lots of shops and snacks. Also the cats that hang out at the stairs. At the end there's a Yanaka Coffee that's worth a visit. That's worth a few hours.
