I agree with travelmad478. I had to go between the furthest possible gate at T1 at London Heathrow to the furthest possible gate at T4. I only had an hour and a half layover, ran whenever possible (some part of the transfer involved a bus), and still barely made the connection.

Here, Here... Been there - done that! I made one minor change to the adventure to save my blistered feet... I hopped onto one of the courtesy carts for less able passengers in T4 which seem to be plying for trade along the Gate 21 route, if they are not full they will happily pick you up - try it. I slipped the driver a couple of bucks and everyone ended up a bit happier.
