At ORD I ran from C31 (Far end of UA island, through the tunnel) to K19 (far end of K-concourse for AA on opposite end of the airport) after a UA flight was canceled and AA got me on a flight leaving in 45 minutes. By the time I ran to the AA ticket counter, waited in line to get somebody to transfer my UA ticket to AA, rushed through security to the gate, I made it JUST before they closed the door. Since all my luggage was in a carry-on, I got quite a workout on that run!

I've heard there is a train at ORD between terminals, but since I've never connected inter-airline before or since I didn't have time to find out where it was at that particular moment.
