I have not flown CE away from row 1 in the latest seats, but given that I care much more about width than pitch I am sure that CE in rows behind 1 are still much better than economy.

I don't dispute that these airlines offer seats that are larger than CE and might look more comfortable. But in my experience these seats are never more comfortable than CE and sometimes even less comfortable.
