Thanks mia. Please excuse my ignorance, but does this mean I could use the gift cards to book and pay for revenue rooms as long as:

1) Cannot book any room with GCs that requires payment in full during the booking process
2) Must put a credit card on file during booking, then may switch to gift cards for payment upon check-in

Is that about right? If so, sounds like a Go.

I have some points reservations in place for the Grand Hyatt Kauai; might swap out with Hyatt GCs. Wife and I each have 50K MR points from the Premier Rewards Gold sign-up bonus. Will have to check the revenue rate for the nights we're staying there to see what the better redemption play is. It's 25K Gold Passport points per night for our dates at this property.
