The dates of my stay are going to be a 4 day period over 6 possible nights, I will not know the exact nights for 2 months. I don't want to risk the F&F deal selling out at the hotel I am looking at.

No charge/guarantee fee for booking. Without any knowledge of your stays - if you are traveling with another party I might suggest you book potential check/in night#1 under your name and potential check/in #2 under the other party. So two separate reservations with two different dates to avoid raising flags at hotel you are booking x,y rooms. When you figure it out cancel the other one out. Exceeding two separate reservation is simply greedy as hotel can't sell the rooms.
