Why would BA show no availability for seats they had plenty of availability for and another one world partner has confirmed availability of some of the seats?
LAN awards work similar to AA awards by showing extra availability but at a higher cost. So those seats are never available to other reward programme users.
I suggest you to some research instead of calling it a scam.
