Probably correct but we cannot be sure. Nobody at BA could do anything about it and basically could not check me in. At the end my boarding pass had totally different PNR reference to the original BA PNR and did not show any status, changed my seat and was just a single journey with no connection. My flights app showed a ghost segment with no ticket for this PNR.
Luckily it's all over now
