Sure - maybe AIMIA should buy an airline...which got me thinking, so I looked their latest financials:

Gross Billings (sales of "loyalty units") for 9months ending Q3:
TD 19.8%
CIBC 15.3%
AC 13.8%
AMEX 11.8%
Out of a total of about $1B (Aeroplan and other Canadian loyalty progams)

Aeroplan "breakage" is about 12% (expired miles, presumably)

Burn/Earn ratio for Aeroplan is 86%, which unsurprisingly aligns not too far off the "breakage" number.
