When I was a teenager (this would have bene 75) we vacationed in Italy, and one of the things we picked up was two giang ornamental swords in Pisa. Carried them onboard, they took them and stored them, and handed them back as we were getting off. Didn't think of it at the time, but must have looked strange as hell walking around with them (they were not wrapped). Couldn't even get in the airport door with them now I bet.
