That seems like a painful routing
But any case, I just had an uncle who went HKG-NRT in CX Y connecting to NRT-YVR in JL J. No status. Was still admitted to Cabin lounge.
Hopefully the Pier F and Wing F interpret the rules in the same way though I've been told this is not always the case.
