It's not good for local business traffic at all. 17:00 doesn't allow for a real business day in SFO. So either you're forced to go on the last-flight-catchall of the day UA (never leaves on time), or do what I've been doing now since Spring of 2015 when it seems the 7pm-ish SFO-YVR was deleted: DL via SEA/PDX. Both SEA and SFO DL lounges have showers, real food, etc... And it IS an international itinerary according to DL.
