This is fun! Here's a few more from me:

- Flying for the first time - it was from Miami to San Juan on Eastern - and feeling the sheer thrill of being airborne

- Being in New York City for the first time as a 16 year old, experiencing all the excitement of the big city and seeing snow for the first time

- Staying at a small village in Kent with my friend Julian, and being given a personal tour of an old English pub

- Coming to the West Coast for the first time on business, being taken to Las Brisas in Laguna Beach for dinner with a sunset view, and falling in love at first sight with California

- Driving across the United States, with a little U-Haul carrier atop my Datsun B-210, exiting the freeway onto a dirt road in Kansas, and feeling the vastness of the United States

- Seeing the awesome sights in the Western United States on the same trip: the Canyon that I-70 runs through west of the Eisenhower Tunnel in Colorado, Arches National Park, Monument Valley, and the Grand Canyon

- Attending the 1984 Super Bowl, even though the Dolphins lost

- Seeing Assisi for the first time, and experiencing the peacefulness of a small group of Polish pilgrims who, in the crypt below the Basilica of Saint Francis, were singing a hymn that I recognized

- Seeing the spectacular Duomo of Florence from the hill overlooking the city

- Climbing partway up the leaning tower of Pisa

- Watching the red star come off of the Parliament in Budapest, seeing the statues of Lenin being removed, and watching the Trabis stream towards the west

- Meditating with 1,000 other people from all over the world in Taize, France

- Strolling down the beach in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica

- Walking the Philosopher's Path in Kyoto, seeing one exquisite temple and shrine after another, and stopping at the end for a Yudofu lunch in a restaurant hidden in a garden

- Staring endlessly at the view of the Opera House and the Harbor Bridge from our hotel room in Sydney

I could go on and on...life is sweet.
