So no, if your selection of a seat you were not allowed to choose (or not for free anyway) is found out, then the airline will absolutely not feel that it has to honour it.

orbitmic, of course, you're absolutely right. I was just sharing my experience on LOT and the impact on Amadeus. I fully understand I got lucky there. It wasn't my intention to "brag" about this workaround nor suggest this was a viable work around solution.
