I wouldn't be angry about it, and would not try to argue that I had been wronged. I see it as a potentially useful wrinkle that will block the seat for me to go in and confirm 'properly' at T-24.
If we know that BA will proactively bump me out of there in the T-72 to T-24 period (which I imagine would be ~T-30 as they start pre-checkin processing) then I'll settle for the bulkhead alternative for now, and maybe still get the exit row at T-24 (which happened on the outbound segment).
If it is a completely unknown quantity then I'm tempted to remain there see what happens and report back as a service to us all
