GS boarding isn't a "right" that you've earned; it's a privilege. United can offer and remove privileges at any time they choose. What is within your "rights" is your ability to change to an airline whose policies are more in line with what you believe to offer an appropriate value proposition.
Presumably you've made it known upstairs that you don't appreciate your privileges being revoked.
