If you don't live in AMS or PAR, 4 trips per year will typically do. My partner, for example, when we lived in Europe, obtained Silver by just flying anually
- one annual holiday trip
- one recreational weekend city trip
- one weekend trip to visit a friend in Europe,
- flying to Grandma's birthday.
That's 16 segments, ie Silver, and not really a way for an airline to earn money.
True ! and by doing so , just add two/three more ''holidays or business trips'' you can reach gold quite easily for less than 1500€.
